A sure way of building resilience in any situation is to focus on the things that we have control over. The key here is to accept that it all starts with our own state of mind. So do we allow all the negative external ‘noise’ to dominate our thoughts or are we programming our state of mind with the positive, emotionally intelligent thinking that empowers us and determines our outcomes.
I am sure that you are aware of the saying “when the going gets tough, the tough get going” but sometimes we need a nudge. We need help to focus and see through the fog of negativity that is enshrouds us. If you can do that on your own, that’s great, however we still need to surround ourselves with positive and motivated colleagues.
Sometimes that means looking beyond our family, friends and work colleagues by identifying positive sources of information and taking positive action to surround ourselves with the right people. So what are you reading? What are you watching? Who are you listening to? What and who are you following on social media? This is really important as it will determine our outcomes as we begin to emerge from the Covid-19 lock down.
Start looking for the people that inspire you, the organisations that empower you and most of all, start creating a bit of space in your day to daydream and create that positive future that we all deserve.
